Today I finally gave in and bought Schicklet some clothes. So far I have only purchased 3 articles of clothing for her, if you include her going home outfit.
I didn't mean to buy clothes, I just wanted to see what Baby Gap had and Melody agreed to walk in with me. Everything I purchased was on sale. One shirt was $2! Nothing cost more than $7.
After leaving Melody, I went to Hobby Lobby to return an item. There were two girls behind me with their mother. One was in the cart (maybe 5 or 6 years old) and the other was standing beside the cart (8 or 9 years old). The one in the cart dropped something and I picked it up for her. They realized I was pregnant and asked all the usual questions. Then the girl who was standing by the cart began whispering something to her mother. I turned around at this point. A few seconds later, I felt a tap on my side. When I turned, the young girl said,"This is for your baby." She held out her hand to give me a penny with a cross cut out. While I was beginning my thank you, she yelled, "It's a Jesus penny!" The mother and I started laughing. I thanked the sweet girl and she was beaming. Who would have thought Schicklet's first cross would come from a sweet, little Christian waiting in line at Hobby Lobby?
