A shower...or two

I had two baby showers on one day! Crazy? Maybe. Did I make it without passing out? Yes, thanks to a nap between showers. My friends threw a shower for just ladies early afternoon. My sister and MIL threw an evening couples shower. I am so grateful for all of the people who came to a shower to celebrate with Christian and myself. Especially Christie and Shy who drove in from Baton Rouge to celebrate with me. Christie traveled into town on Friday and Shy woke up with the roosters to leave Baton Rouge to make it. I am also grateful to Queen Lunatic and Christian's Godfather, Peter, for taking pictures with my camera at the showers.
Here are some pictures from the eventful day.

Shower 1:

Part of the decorations from the ladies shower. Guess which diaper cover she will wear the most.

Crystal made cupcakes and a mini cake for me. On top of the cake nest are two birds with a little egg/birdie. Isn't she creative?

Baby Carlie. She was a mini-hostess.

Just me.

Theresa trying to figure out My Brest Friend.

Christie and Shy.

After all was said and done. Crystal, Donella and I forgot to take pictures with each other!! We were watching the World Cup and playing with Carlie. At least we have pictures from Crystal's shower.

Shower 2:

Christian and me. Did we plan to color coordinate? No. I would like to think he saw my dress hanging up in the bathroom and dressed accordingly. However, I know my sweet husband put on the first shirt he saw that was clean and did not have to be ironed.

Jim, Christian's dad and my dad. My dad was the scribe. After he had proven himself, he was allowed to use a table to write on.

This is a picture of the gift bag and tissue paper we found at the bottom a mailing box under the gift. Some assembly was required before the shower. The assembly didn't happend and it was provided a very good laugh.

Christie went to both showers. She was a trooper.

Christine Storms made this book for us. She did all of the leather work.

Amy B. picked out this for the baby. She told my dad the baby needed it. Caitlin gave the baby the matching blanket.
